Animation such as a slideshow is fairly common these days. However, it is easy to get it wrong, even with a slideshow!
Animations need to be subtle enough to engage your users and allow them to appreciate the attention to detail and the effort made to present them with something different.

Slideshows

Slideshows can be done well, but if they move too quickly so visitors cannot read the content, or each slide does not have context, it can easily disengage your users.

Animations

An animation that lends itself to the aesthetics of the site to boost the user experience could be as simple as:

• providing feedback to the visitor on a call to action button
• a credibility slider of logos
• or even elements subtly moving or transitioning across the page.

Be clever, be different, and do something your competitors are not.
